INDIVIDUAL CONSUMER PRICE INDEX

This article defines the Individual Consumer Price Index (ICPI) as a tool that adjusts price measurements according to the specific consumption patterns of each individual or family, adapting to their particular economic reality. The monetary policies implemented by central banks and the use of fractional reserve banking by private banks play a key role in determining the cost of living, affecting purchasing power by influencing money creation and credit expansion. These dynamics generate price variations that impact each individual differently. Unlike the general Consumer Price Index, which provides an average view of price variations across a geography, the ICPI, despite its challenges, reflects the dynamism and subjectivity inherent to each person or household.
